Marina Salamon

After studying in high school in France and Great Britain, she graduated in history at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, specializing in economic and social history. Subsequently, in 1982, at only 24 years of age, Dr. Salamon began her career as an entrepreneur by founding Altana S.p.A., a company operating in the children's clothing sector, luxury fashion segment. From 1985 to 2001, Dr. Salamon was a shareholder of Replay Jeans (Fashion Box S.p.A.) and in 1991 she also acquired control of Doxa S.p.A., the first Italian market research company. In 2014 Marina Salamon became the majority shareholder of Save The Duck S.p.A., the first manufacturer of animal-free duvets. Dr. Salamon is also shareholder and director of Banca Ifis S.p.A., specialized in factoring and web banking and listed on the MTA, Star segment. Marina Salamon is also Vice Chairman of Illycaffè S.p.A. and advisor of Morellato S.p.A.. In addition, for over a decade she has been national advisor of WWF. In 1992 Marina Salomon won the Bellisario Award, which was followed by several other awards linked to her entrepreneurial activity. Finally, in terms of political and social commitment, Dr. Salamon has in the past been a member of the Venice City Council in the years 1993-95, alongside the mayor Massimo Cacciari and has always supported various charitable associations, dedicating part of her time to the non-profit sector. In particular, in 2012 she founded Web Of Life, which includes the main charity projects she supported.
