About Me After obtaining a degree in Nuclear Physics at the University of Padua, she began her professional career in November 1981, joining IBM as IT system engineer, with the responsibility of developing and implementing innovative solutions for the financial sector. In parallel, Dr. Chiodi completed her professional training with an MBA at the Open University Business School in London. Dr. Chiodi has subsequently held a number of important international management positions in IBM, such as Sales Director for the Banking and Insurance sector for Southern Europe, Director of Application Development for Southern Europe, CEO of the IBM-FIAT Global Value Joint Venture, Director of Strategic Outsourcing Services for Southern Europe. Isabella Chiodi finally ended her career in IBM Europe as Sales Vice President for the European Union, a position she held from 2011 to March 2017. In particular, in this position, Isabella Chiodi took on the responsibility for business and relations with Central European Institutes, the coordination of pan-European IT projects triggered by EU initiatives in different market sectors. During this period, she was also a member of the Intelligent Transport System's Advisory Board of the European Commission's Mobility & Transport Directorate. In addition, Dr. Chiodi has been involved in micro-enterprises and start-ups, playing an active role in providing financial and managerial support in relation to entrepreneurial projects, both as a member of the network of entrepreneurs and managers in Veneto Venetwork and individually. Isabella Chiodi was also an active member of Confindustria Veneto, with regional delegation for Innovation and relations with Research Institutes from 2014 to 2017 and a member of the board of directors of Veneto Nanotecnology until 2016. She was on the General Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Padua as an Independent Director from 2014 to 2017. In the social field, Isabella Chiodi has always dealt with gender issues and equal opportunities. In particular, she has been a member of the IBM Women Advisory Board and an honorary member of Professional Women Association Italia and is past-President of AIDDA N/E, an Italian association affiliated with Femmes d'Enterprises Mondiales. She is a member and supporter of the Onlus Informatici Senza Frontiere, where she is responsible for projects and training activities.
